    MapleDestiny Beginner's Handbook

    Welcome to MapleDestiny!

    This quick guide will cover the basic features of our server, including player commands, custom server content and general points of interest.

    [IMG] Player Commands [IMG]

    A list of game commands that are available to players can be consulted by typing "@heIp" (without the quotes) in chat.

    Show Spoiler

    Useful commands
    • @gm <message>
      • You can contact GM Staff in-game by using this command. <message> is the text that will be shown to all online Staff members once your message is sent.
    • @servertime
      • This command displays the current servertime on your chat. Server time is in UTC.
    • @currency
      • Writes, in your chat, a list of different currencies you own, such as Dojo points, NX cash, BossPQ points, and others.
    • @whodrops <item name>
      • Writes down a list of every monster that drops <item name>. This command is definitive, meaning that if a particular monster is in the list provided, then it will drop the item searched. On the other hand, if a monster is not listed, then it will not drop the item.
    • @bosshp
      • Once used, this command shows you a list of all the bosses in the map, along with their respective remaining health.
    • @mapowner
      • Shows who is the current owner of the map you're in, as well as adding a line with servertime written on it. For more information about the map ownership features, please check MapleDestiny rules.
    • @togglesmega
      • Disables/reenables all kinds of Megaphone messages from showing in your chat.
    • @checktimer
      • Lists all the timers regarding your character; these include Boss timers and number of Boss fight entries still available, as well as the time left for you to vote on our website.
    • @achievements [completed / repeatable]
      • Shows you a list of the in-game Achievements that you completed, and the ones that can be repeated. You can also view only one of the two groups, by adding "completed" or "repeatable" after the command.
      • Link to the Achievements list
    • @dispose
      • If you can't enter any map portal, or if you can't speak with any NPC, this command may fix that. Please contact a GM if that didn't work!
    Using the Skill Macros

    [IMG]
    Creating a Skill Macro with one of the commands as the "Skill name" will automatically activate the command, once the macro is used!

    [IMG] Useful NPCs [IMG]

    Here you can find information about non-canon MapleStory NPCs, that can help you in different ways.

    [IMG] What to do with Maple Leaves? [IMG]

    Every monster in MapleDestiny has a chance of dropping Maple Leaves. Here's what you can do with them.
    Show Spoiler

    [IMG]
    T-1337 in New Leaf City offers you many services, all of which need Maple Leaves to be used.

    Consumables

    Choosing "I want a drink" from T-1337 menu will let you choose between two powerup potions:

    [IMG] ElectroJuice, +50 Magic Attack for 10 minutes.
    [IMG] NitroJuice, +22 Weapon Attack for 10 minutes.

    Both potions come in a bundle of 10, and cost 1.000 Maple Leaves and 50.000 mesos per bundle.

    Maple Weapons lv 64

    You can craft level 64 weaponry by choosing "I want to make a level 64 weapon".

    Each level 64 Weapon you craft will cost two copies of a level 43 weapon of the same type, 200 Maple Leaves and 500.000 mesos. This includes Maple Warrior/Magician/Thief Shield (the sacrificial items will be two Maple Shields).

    Maple Glory Sword (1H Sword), Maple Steel Axe (1H Axe) and Maple Havoc Hammer (1H Blunt Weapon) will instead cost two copies of the lvl 43 weapon of the same type, 100 Maple Leaves and 300.000 mesos.

    Maple Weapons lv 77

    You can craft level 77 weaponry by choosing "I want to make a level 77 weapon".

    Each level 77 Weapon you craft will cost two copies of a level 64 weapon of the same type, 200 Maple Leaves and 500.000 mesos.

    Maple Pyrope Sword (1H Sword), Maple Pyrope Axe (1H Axe) and Maple Pyrope Hammer (1H Blunt Weapon) will instead cost two copies of the lvl 64 weapon of the same type, 100 Maple Leaves and 300.000 mesos.

    [IMG] Both level 64 and level 77 crafting options allow you to use a Stimulator. [IMG]
    For this particular kind of crafting, a Stimulator will cause your new weapon to have randomized stats, as if it was looted from the ground. Not using one will result in the weapon being crafted with average stats.

    Maple Weapon Disassembling

    T-1337's last option, "I want to disassemble my level 77 weapon!", allows you to obtain Maple Leaves in exchange for a level 77 weapon from your inventory.

    Keep in mind that, if you have more than one level 77 weapon in inventory, the one with highest item ID will be used for this.
    If you're unsure about which weapon has the highest ID, you can check T-1337's level 77 weapons list: the lower a weapon is in the list, the higher its ID.

    [IMG] Maker Skill [IMG]

    MapleDestiny has an alternative way to obtain the Maker skill.
    Show Spoiler

    [IMG]

    You can get the Maker skill by speaking with Chef in Lith Harbor, after reaching level 45.
    He will have a quest for you, "Chef's Discovery".

    The quest will ask you to gather some items:

    [IMG] 10 Mithril Plates;
    [IMG] 15 Gold Plates;
    [IMG] 5 Black Crystals.

    Once you complete the task, you'll be taught Maker level 1, that lets you craft items up to level 75.

    There are three levels of Maker; Maker level 2 (for items up to lvl 105) can be unlocked at level 75, and Maker level 3 (for items up to lvl 135) can be unlocked once you reach 105.

    Maker Tips

    The first thing to keep in mind is that you can only craft any equipment that requires up to 5 more levels than your current character level.
    For example, if you want to craft a Reverse Lampion (level 120 Claw), you'll need to be atleast level 115.

    Items crafted with Maker will have randomized stats, as if they were looted from the ground.

    [IMG]
    You can see the average stats of an item you're about to create by hovering over its icon, in the top left area of the Maker window.

    [IMG] Maker Skill allows the use of weapon Stimulators. [IMG]
    However, the mechanism here is different from the one used with Maple Weapons crafting.
    For Maker, a Stimulator sets the randomized stats to only have a chance to be either average or above average. If using a Stimulator, there's a 10% chance that the item crafting will be a failure, making you lose all the materials. Be careful!

    [IMG] Custom Crafting [IMG]

    How to obtain a Purple Surfboard? How to craft a Piece of Cracked Dimension? Find out this (and more) here.
    Show Spoiler

    Piece of Cracked Dimension

    [IMG]
    In order to fight Papulatus, you'll need to craft the item needed to summon it, the Piece of Cracked Dimension.
    To do so, MapleDestiny has a custom items collecting quest, accessible via the Tombstone NPC next to Papulatus' very room.
    The Tombstone will let you craft Pieces of Cracked Dimension A, B and C. After that, it'll make you combine those to obtain the final Piece of Cracked Dimension.

    You're gonna need many items from all around Ludibrium dungeon maps. To keep it simple, check out this scheme:

    [IMG]

    The items required for Piece of Cracked Dimension A:
    [IMG] 50 Ghost Pirate Keys (from Ghost Pirates, Warped Path of Time 3);
    [IMG] 50 Sealed Teddy Bears (from Death Teddies, Forgotten Path of Time 3).

    The items required for Piece of Cracked Dimension B:
    [IMG] 25 Viking Sails (from Spirit Vikings, Warped Path of Time 4);
    [IMG] 25 Sealed Bottles (from Phantom Watches, Forgotten Path of Time 4).

    The items required for Piece of Cracked Dimension C:
    [IMG] 5 Gatekeeper Armbands (from Gatekeepers, Warped Passage);
    [IMG] 5 Tanathos Straps (from Thanatos, Forgotten Passage).

    The items required for the final Piece of Cracked Dimension:
    [IMG] 1 Piece of Cracked Dimension A;
    [IMG] 1 Piece of Cracked Dimension B;
    [IMG] 1 Piece of Cracked Dimension C.

    Now, you're ready to face Papulatus. Good luck!

    So Gong's quest is repeatable, however you'll need to get all the listed items again for every new attempt.

    [IMG] HP Quest [IMG]

    Are you in need of a quick HP boost, and AP Resets are never enough? MapleDestiny has the solution for you.

    Show Spoiler

    [IMG]

    In order to access the HP Quests, you must have completed the Etc-collecting quest of the second part of MapleDestiny's custom Questline. A link to that will be in the Credits section of this guide.

    Finding the HP Quests NPC

    [IMG]
    From Leafre, travel two maps to the right, until you reach "Minar Forest: East Border"; you will find a portal at the top of the map, that will lead you to Tera Forest.
    While going there, you might need to hunt the monsters you find, in order to obtain a [IMG] Time Traveler's Pocket Watch (any monster around Leafre has a chance to drop it): you're gonna need to have atleast one in your inventory, whenever you want to meet the NPC.

    Once you're in Tera Forest, and you possess a Pocket Watch, speak with the Time Gate: it will allow you to consume a Pocket Watch to be teleported to a Neo City map of your choice.
    For the HP Quest, choose to go to "<Year 2021>: Average Town Entrance".
    Keep going to the right until you reach "<Year 2021>: Average Town Outskirt": that's the map where the Mushroom Statue is located.

    The Quest

    The Mushroom Statue will ask you to obtain six different items:
    [IMG] Zakum Certificate (available from Zakum);
    [IMG] Papulatus Certificate (available from Papulatus);
    [IMG] Pianus Certificate (available from Pianus);
    [IMG] Magic Stone of Trust (available from Horntail);
    [IMG] Magic Stone of Honesty (available from Targa);
    [IMG] Magic Stone of Humility (available from The Boss).

    All these items are one-of a-kind and untradeable, so you'll have to take part into the Boss fights, in order to obtain them.

    You can repeat the HP Quest up to 10 times.

    The Reward

    For each time you complete the HP Quest, you'll receive a set amount of HP/MP points.
    Depending on your job, the values are as follows:
    • Warrior class: 180 HPs, 30 MPs.
    • Archer class: 170 HPs, 150 MPs.
    • Thief class: 170 HPs, 150 MPs.
    • Magician class: 150 HPs, 50 MPs.
    • Pirate class:
      • Brawler: 150 HPs, 100 MPs.
      • Gunslinger: 170 HPs, 150 MPs.
    • Aran class: 200 HPs, 20 MPs.

    Stormcaster Gloves, Facestompers, Crystal Ilbies and their Manuals. Let's get at them.
    Show Spoiler

    Getting the Forging Manual

    [IMG]
    The first step towards making your iTCG equipment of choice is to obtain the corresponding manual.
    The Glimmer Man in New Leaf City is the man for you: he offers you a selection of Forging Manuals to pick from.

    In order to get your hands on a manual, you'll be asked for some iTCG items. Here's a list of all the available ones (the ones you need will depend on the manual of choice):
    [IMG] Subani Ankh (10.000 BossPQ Points);
    [IMG] Antellion Relic (10.000 BossPQ Points);
    [IMG] Naricain Jewel (10.000 BossPQ Points);
    [IMG] Crystal Shard (15.000 BossPQ Points);
    [IMG] Stone Tiger Head (15.000 BossPQ Points);
    [IMG] Taru Totem (25.000 BossPQ Points).

    Note: crafting a Crystal Ilbi Forging Manual will also require [IMG] 1 set of Ilbi Throwing Stars.

    Using the Forging Manual

    [IMG]
    After having gained your manual, it's time to head to Omega Sector, where Spindle will be waiting for you.

    Depending on which Forging Manual you've got, Spindle will also ask you for some extra items, like ore plates, crystals, and/or various Etc. items.

    Although Spindle will detail his requests, you might check which items will be expected from you at this link:

    [IMG] Astaroth [IMG]

    Every now and then, you might see a chat announcement that says that someone summoned the boss Astaroth. Let's find out what that's about!
    Show Spoiler

    [IMG]

    Astaroth is a free-to-fight field boss that spawns in Henesys, upon being summoned.
    What this means is that everyone can join an Astaroth bossfight, no matter when you reach his map.

    How to summon

    Astaroth can be summoned by any player, by speaking with Charles in Henesys. You'll need six different Erasers, for the process to work:
    [IMG] 1 Stump Eraser;
    [IMG] 1 Mushmom Eraser;
    [IMG] 1 Lupin Eraser;
    [IMG] 1 Wraith Eraser;
    [IMG] 1 Slime Eraser;
    [IMG] 1 Octopus Eraser.

    Erasers can be randomly found by opening Gachapon Tickets in any town. They're tradeable, so you can buy or sell them freely.

    Once you've collected one copy of each Eraser, follow Charles' procedure, and one Astaroth will be summoned.
    If you're the summoner, you'll obtain one free Mysterious Box, and you'll have a chance to win [IMG] The Curse Breaker medal, +4 STR/DEX/INT/LUK, +10 Speed, +5 Jump.
    Remember: Charles can gift you one free Mysterious Box only if you don't have any already with you!

    More than one Astaroth can be present at a time, and not necessarily on the same channel; a chat message will inform every online player in MapleDestiny about his presence, along with the channel it got summoned into.

    The prize

    [IMG]
    Once Astaroth is slain, 10 random lucky players, among the ones who contributed to the kill, will receive a Mysterious Box in their inventory. Who knows what's inside? Only one way to find out!

    [IMG] GM Events [IMG]

    Game Moderators in MapleDestiny can host simple worldwide Events.

    [IMG]
    Example of a scheduled GM Event on Forum. The text will also be a link to the Event thread.

    Following a Forum announcement from atleast 24 hours before, and an in-game notice that's usually around 30 minutes before, GMs will initiate an Event by summoning Little Suzy, in the Freemarket. This will be notified to whoever is online, regardless of their map/channel, via blue text in chat.

    Usually, Little Suzy will be waiting in Channel 2. Since the first chat notice won't specify that, you can assume that as her default location. It will however be pointed out in a following notice, so make sure to pay attention!

    The Events

    Here's a rundown on the main GM Events that you can experience. More will come, in the future.
    Also, don't forget to always check the Forum post relative to the upcoming scheduled in-game Event: it will include all the rules and features of that Event!

    Russian Roulette

    You'll find yourself in a big map, along with other participants. A GM will be using a randomized killing command to eliminate one player at a time, until only few are left. Good luck!

    Musical Chairs

    Given a set of platforms and a limited time, you'll have to choose one to wait the countdown on. A GM will be hiding on a random platform, and will reveal himself after the timer reaches zero. Whoever is standing on the same platform as the GM is out!

    FM Frenzy

    One or more GMs will be hiding in random Freemarket rooms. If you pick the same room as one of them, during the given time, you'll win a prize!

    Jump Quest

    Living up to its name, this event consists of a simple JQ. You'll have to reach the end of the route as fast as you can, to be among the few winners. Be wary of sudden obstacles!

    Stop and Go

    Your goal will be to cross a long flat map, reaching the GM before the time is over. GM will occasionally seduce the whole map, making everyone walk back to the left side. This can be countered by sitting on a chair!

    True or False Quiz

    You'll have to decide if the GM's statement, that will concern MapleStory or MapleDestiny, is true or false. If you pick the correct option, you'll advance to the next round!

    Hide and Seek

    A GM will be hiding in an unknown map of his choice. A hint about the GM location will be given via ingame notice, and you will have 5 minutes to reach the correct map!

    The prize

    You can obtain two kinds of rewards from a GM Event:

    [IMG] Event Ticket - can be exchanged with Mia in Henesys for a chance to obtain a Magic Crystal.
    [IMG] Magic Crystal - can exchange 5 of them with Mia in Henesys to obtain a random Chair, or 10 of them for a Gold Slime Sack, a monster sack that can summon rare NX-dropping Golden Slimes.

    The list of available Chairs can be consulted here: Available Chairs list

    10/07/2016 update:
    • Added a Training/Farming section. For the moment it only includes buffed/nerfed mobs, working to expand it to a general idea on where to train and farm at different levels. @Jordan
    • Readded the togglesmega command, that I had decided to keep out because of its relatively low need for a beginner. Item smegas from Summer Event changed this though. @Chae
    • Added Mia in Henesys to the list of custom NPCs. No idea how I could forget this.
    • Edited the "GM Events" section to reflect the introduction of Gold Slimes as a prize from Mia.
    • Added Agent P in Leafre to the list of custom NPCs. Agent P is used to craft Dragon Stones for a Horntail Pendant. @Chae

      • Reviewed the situation on Stickied guides in the "Guides" section. Changes will be more easily noticeable in 24 hours, due to redirects expiring. Further changes might happen.
    • (28/07) Completed second part of the reorganization of the "Guides" section:
      • Redirects expired, final Guides movings completed.
      • Many guides that included old content, such as Lilin's Rings and/or Chimney training were moved to the "Outdated Guides" section aswell. If a guide you're planning on updating has been moved, please let me know, I'll bring it back once it's been reviewed.
